Tiago is looking for: A Room in Amsterdam

My name is Tiago, I am a 24-year-old EU citizen (Lithuanian and Brazilian background). I will be moving to Amsterdam to begin a Master’s degree in Ancient History at the University of Amsterdam in September 2026.

I have recently completed a four-year MA (Hons) degree in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Edinburgh, where I have lived independently for the past three years in private studio accommodation. This experience has given me a strong appreciation for maintaining a clean, quiet and well-organised home.

Housing and rental experience

During my studies in Edinburgh, I successfully lived independently in private studio accommodation and have always taken care of my living space responsibly. Before this, I also lived in shared student accommodation, which taught me the importance of being respectful towards neighbours and other residents. During my foundation year at an international school in Cambridge, I lived in a house with multiple students, where Ι was chosen as a residential ambassador, helping to manage the residence for that year and working together with the other tenants.

I am looking for a studio or small apartment in the Amsterdam area where I can live comfortably during my Master’s studies. I am interested in both furnished and unfurnished properties.

Financial security

Although I will be a student during my time in Amsterdam, I have strong financial support and a reliable guarantor.

My mother will act as my guarantor. She is an economist working for the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, and can provide the necessary documentation confirming her employment and financial stability.
